The challenge
A commercial pool has to come back into service on a date, and its steps and depth markings have to be right. Peeling plaster over that area is a safety issue, not a cosmetic one.
What we did
Strip the failed plaster, repair the substrate, apply a new waterproofing layer and finish in mosaic. Recast the coping and deck, and set contrasting tile bands on the step nosings.
The result
A surface that will take commercial use, with the steps readable from in the water.
