Waterline tiles cut out and replaced
A waterline band with tiles cracked, lifted and missing, and the bed behind them gone. Cut out, the substrate made good, and re-laid in glass mosaic.

The challenge
When waterline tiles come off in sheets the problem is the bed behind them, not the tiles. Sticking new tiles onto a failed bed buys a season at most.
What we did
Cut the band out well past the visible damage, take the bed back to sound substrate, rebuild it, then set new glass mosaic and grout with a waterproof, chemical-resistant grout.
The result
A waterline that is bonded along its whole length, in a finish that will not chalk out in the sun.
